Fourth grade marks a shift from guided learning to growing independence. Content gets substantially harder: longer reading passages, multi-paragraph writing, multi-digit multiplication, and deeper science and social studies concepts. Yes. Score Academy Online is designed for young learners. Fourth graders on the Synchronous package learn in live classes with certified teachers who provide the focused instruction and individual attention this age needs as content gets harder. By fourth grade, students are ready for more independence and deeper academic challenge.
Yes. Online schooling is legal in all 50 states. Many families choose online school during upper elementary to give their child more focused instruction and less classroom disruption. Score Academy Online is accredited by Cognia, so transcripts are recognized by schools and districts nationwide.
Fourth grade students study Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education. They also choose one elective from Spanish, Art, or Music. On the Synchronous and Flex packages, every subject is taught live by a certified teacher. On the Asynchronous package, students work through the same curriculum independently.
Pricing is per course for elementary students. Asynchronous is $415 per course. Flex (live group classes with recordings and teacher chat) is $1,275 per course. Synchronous (live small-group classes of no more than 4 students with personalized feedback) is $2,125 per course. Additional fees such as registration and technology fees may apply. Synchronous 4th grade students follow a structured daily schedule from approximately 8:30 AM to 2:45 PM, with breaks and lunch built in. That’s roughly 5 to 5.5 hours of live instruction and independent study, similar to a traditional school day but with less wasted time.
Three things. First, Synchronous instruction is 100% live and taught by certified human teachers. No AI tutors, no pre-recorded lectures as primary instruction. Second, every student gets an individualized education plan built by their teachers, not generated by software. Third, families can choose between Synchronous (small-group live), Flex (group live with recordings and teacher chat), and Asynchronous (fully self-paced), all under the same Cognia accreditation.
Yes. In every live class on the Synchronous and Flex packages, your child interacts with classmates and their teacher. Group projects, presentations, and collaborative work build genuine connections. Many families find that consistent, personal interactions in a focused setting work better for this age than navigating a crowded traditional classroom.
Yes. Score Academy Online is accredited by Cognia (which includes SACS CASI, NCA, and NWAC recognition) and is both NCAA Approved and NCAA Eligible. Transcripts carry the same weight as those from any traditional accredited private school.
