The year expectations ramp up. Pre-algebra, deeper writing, real independence, and certified teachers who know your child well enough to notice when something is off and do something about it.
Seventh grade ramps up expectations across the board. Writing assignments get longer and more complex. Math moves into pre-algebra territory. Science involves more inquiry and critical thinking. Socially and emotionally, seventh grade is famously difficult: kids this age are navigating puberty, identity, and intense social dynamics. For many students, the focused online learning environment is a welcome relief from the chaos of a traditional middle school building. At Score Academy, teachers know each student well enough to notice when something is off, and to act on it before it becomes a pattern.
From core academics to creative electives, here’s a snapshot of what Grade 7 students study at Score Academy Online. Synchronous students take every subject live. Asynchronous students access the same accredited curriculum at their own pace.
Longer literary analysis, structured essays, creative writing projects, and grammar refinement. Writing gets more complex and more personal.
Pre-algebra, integers, proportions, and geometry. Logical thinking and multi-step problem-solving become the focus.

Three packages. Same Cognia accreditation. Pricing is per course for elementary and middle school students.
Your child works through the curriculum at their own pace. A teacher marks and grades all submitted work. No scheduled class times.
Weekly live lessons in a group of up to 20 students. Every session recorded for replay. Direct teacher access through the online chat platform.
Weekly live sessions in a small group of no more than 4 students. Personalized attention from a certified teacher with direct real-time interaction.
Yes. Score Academy Online’s middle school program supports 7th graders through the year when academic expectations ramp up significantly. Students on the Synchronous package learn in live classes with certified teachers who provide the right balance of structure and growing independence.
Yes. Online schooling is legal in all 50 states. Many families begin online school during middle school to provide a more tailored, less overwhelming learning experience. Score Academy Online is accredited by Cognia, which means transcripts are recognized by other schools and universities nationwide.
Grade 7 students study English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Health and Physical Education, Digital Art and Design, Music, Coding Fundamentals, Career Research and Decision Making, and Critical Thinking. On the Synchronous and Flex packages, every subject is taught live by a certified teacher. On the Asynchronous package, students work through the same curriculum independently.
Pricing is per course for middle school students. Asynchronous is $415 per course. Flex (live group classes with recordings and teacher chat) is $1,275 per course. Synchronous (live small-group classes of no more than 4 students with personalized feedback) is $2,125 per course. Additional fees such as registration and technology fees may apply. Contact admissions for a full breakdown.
Synchronous 7th grade students follow a structured daily schedule from approximately 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with breaks and lunch built in. That’s roughly 5 to 6 hours of live instruction and independent study, similar to a traditional school day but with less wasted time.
Three things. First, Synchronous instruction is 100% live and taught by certified human teachers. No AI tutors, no pre-recorded lectures as primary instruction. Second, every student gets an individualized education plan built by their teachers, not generated by software. Third, families can choose between Synchronous (small-group live), Flex (group live with recordings and teacher chat), and Asynchronous (fully self-paced), all under the same Cognia accreditation.
Yes. In every live class on the Synchronous and Flex packages, your child interacts with classmates and their teacher. Group projects, discussions, and collaborative work build genuine connections. Many families find that consistent, personal interactions in a focused setting work better for this age than navigating a crowded traditional middle school.
Yes. Score Academy Online is accredited by Cognia (which includes SACS CASI, NCA, and NWAC recognition) and is both NCAA Approved and NCAA Eligible. Transcripts carry the same weight as those from any traditional accredited private school.
